It is obtained through the catalytic transformation of the initiator dihomo linolenic acid by use of prostaglandin synthetease which is extracted fromram glandular vesiculosa,and purification, its content is no less than 95%.
The product is a white needle crystal, freely soluble inetayanol,slightly soluble in water.Metling point:112-118°C,Specification rotation:-58-64°.
It can be used for inhibiting blood platelet aggregation, formation of thromboxane A2, formation of atherosclerotic plaque and immunocomplex, deliating peripheral and vasa coronaria,and can be applied to heart infarction, thrombotic angeitis and atherosclerosis obliterans, etc.
