Poly I is obtained through use of the substrate-IDP,then the catalytic polymerization by immobilization polynucleotide phosphorylase(PNPase), the content of which is no less than 90%.

It is a white or white-similar powder,soluble in water, practically insoluble in organic solvents such as ethanol,ether,etc.

Poly I pairing with poly C forms poly I:C double helix structure,, which possesses antiviril action.
